This is my first entry for Helen Vahdati’s Song Lyric Sunday.

I have been inspired week after week of listening to the wonderful songs and lyrics in everyone’s posts.

Finally jumping in and could not pass up this week’s theme of give/giving. One of my all time favorites by U2, “With or Without You”, it always leaves me feeling whole and complete. Especially with Bono’s power filled and soulful voice passionately booming, “and you give yourself away…”

    1. Thank you, Hélène! In the days of my youth, I visited there often with my tribe of spiritual friends! We used hike for hours exploring the magic of the desert. This picture, is from a trip I took with my brother John. He’d never been and since I now live only 100 miles away, he asked if I’d like to join him. It was a glorious day with my little bro, now 6’4”, but truly one of my bestest friends! Have a great singing day too Hélène!💐

  9. I’d sung it a lot, but never studied the words, Jordis. Great to see them written down. We visited Joshua Tree National Park when we were on one of our trips some years ago. Beautiful place – and you could ‘feel’ why U2 picked it for inspiration.

    1. I used to listen to the Joshua Tree album day after day and living in California, I would visit the park often, driving while listening to the words. Many magical awakenings, as you might imagine. Truly inspiring place and just can’t be fathomed without the companionship of this album!
