Rose Spirals – a photo essay

This is my contribution to Frank Jansen’s “Dutch goes the Photo,” challenge.

The theme for this week is tranquil, which is perfect for this time of year.

I spent this past Sunday taking pictures of the roses in my garden and editing them for a book of poetry that I am working on. A rose for every poem.

A Haiku

Time passes tranquil

Being with hues red and gold

Heart blossoms unfold

My attempt in French

Temps passe tranquillement

Etre avec rouge et or

Fleurs coeur devoilent

Edit – Nicole Pottier helped my poem in French. I was trying to stay within the syllables of a haiku but it didn’t seem to work.

Here is Nicole’s version! Merci beaucoup Nicole!

le temps passe tranquillement

dans des nuances rouge et or

le coeur des fleurs se dévoile
