NaNo – My Promise

This is my entry for Hélène Vaillant’s “What do you see,” challenge.

The month of November is National Novel Writing (NaNoWriMo) Month. I have accepted the challenge to write 50,000 words in the month of November. It is November 3rd and I have written 2,000 words so far. The daily average needs to be around 1,600, so I am under that goal. 🙃 However, a lot of my time has been conducting research. Once I get the plot and two main characters grounded, my wings will spread.

I plan on publishing a few excerpts early next week. But this little invocation will give a few hints.

Without all of your support and encouragement, I doubt that I would have come this far. In gratitude for your listening, with love, thank you. ☄️❤️

Revelation 21:21 KJV – “And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each one of the gates was a single pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.”

With trepidation and humble heart

Janice gazes upon the rocks and sea

Clutching a lone pearl,

close to her heart,

through her reveries, she declares,

“It would be my honor to give this gift

of creation back to you.

Born in your lineage,

you live in my heart,

I have no legs to walk with,

only a tail and fins,

to swim in your sea of being,

gliding through the warm waters,

exploring the rocks.

You guide my hand,

along the rough surface,

a pearl drops before me.

It is mine to pick up,

no not swine,

but one of the twelve gates,

the new Jerusalem.

What one gate do I enter?”

Janice holds the pearl close to her heart and listens for an answer. She hears and with nothing promises, “I will write this book with love.”

  2. Oh, Jordan, if your book is anything like this magnificence you just wrote above, it will enrich many hearts, it surely has done so for me thus far.
